552 Trigger
Trigger is about a 78 pound 7-8 year old chocolate male. He was picked up as a stray and taken to a rural northern California shelter. When his people didn’t come for him, they tested him for heartworm(endemic in the area) and he came back positive. He will be going through treatment at our expense, but he can be fostered (to adopt) during this treatment time as long as you are fairly close to where we are located in the Sacramento area. We will be taking him to Redding for his treatments. He knows sit, never jumps up, and walks fairly well on a leash. He is good with other dogs and kids, but we don’t know about cats. Housetraining is in progress but he’s doing very well with it. He is enjoying his walks while he can…once he has his first treatment in a month, he has to be a couch potato. This time is great for teaching house manners and basic obedience like stay, down, etc. We have had several adopters foster their dog through this treatment and thought the time flies and they were grateful for the quiet time they enjoyed together.
Update: Trigger has completed his second treatment and is now staying with his foster to adopt family.
