528 Winston
Winston is a 74 pound about 7 year old “retriever” mix. Occasionally we are at a shelter evaluating a lab and come across one of these really special dogs that are the staff’s favorites. Winston was one of these. He was temperament tested and received gold stars for being good with kids, dogs, cats and even the elderly. He is such an easy going boy. The shelter said he would ‘hold it’ so we think he may be house trained. He’s crate trained, knows sit, shake and walks so nicely on a leash…we’re still getting to know each other. Unfortunately, no one was interested in this special boy because he had an ugly fatty tumor which we had removed. AND, he’s heartworm positive. The shelter raised funds to help cover some of the costs for his treatment if we could rescue him. He’s got a long road ahead of him with his treatments, but he’s such a wonderful easy, go with the flow kind of boy, he’ll be a joy to have. If you are in the greater Sacramento area and are interested, Winston can go home on a foster contract. Labs 2 Love will cover his 2 heartworm treatments. Yes, we know he’s not a lab, but he truly is a really nice dog!
UPDATE: Winston is now living with the family intending to adopt him following his heartworm treatment.
