484 Raven
Raven is a 62 pound about 3 year old black female. She was picked up as a stray in a rural area of northern California and luckily she had been microchipped. Unfortunately, her owners were contacted and they never came for her. She was very frightened in the shelter environment and did not show well so we were called to give her a second chance. Once she got past the doors of the shelter, we saw what a sweet girl she is. She was giving kisses as we were trying to evaluate her. She is friendly and energetic with not much training (yet!). Raven is house trained and crate trained but sleeps quietly on a dog bed next to her foster parents’ bed all night. She hasn’t met a dog she didn’t think is her new best friend. She has an unbelievable nose and can search out a ball or track a ball from it’s bounce. She also can leap straight in the air to catch butterflies and dragonflies…no errant critters will be in her yard! Raven is a lab who needs a job to be a happy dog! Raven is not the kind of dog you can leave in the back yard when you go to work…especially if she is left alone. She will find mischief to get into. She’s been good when she has another dog to play and run with without incident, but she also has a doggie door to come into the house and relax. She is so incredibly smart, but she is also incredibly loving. She’d make an awesome agility dog. If you are looking for a smart, active partner, Raven is the one.
