475 Duke

Duke is a 9 1/2 year old ~75 pound black male. He and his sister Shiloh were sadly surrendered after the family’s new baby became seriously ill and required repeated hospital stays for respiratory distress. Poor Duke was put outside to live after being a long loved family member for over 9 years. His owners knew the dogs deserve better and tearfully surrendered them to us to find them wonderful new homes. So far, we know Duke is house trained, knows sit, and walks ok on a leash. He was happy to meet his new foster dog friends and he’s been trying to keep up with the young ones. Owners said he ignored neighbor’s cats who wander into the yard. He has been wonderful with the owner’s older daughter. Though Duke and Shiloh have been together all their lives (same litter, different fathers), they seem to be pretty independent, and Duke will likely do just fine without Shiloh if his new family will give him lots of love and attention.
