99 Duke
Duke is about a 6 year old 58 pound yellow lab/boxer mix. There are times when we’re at a shelter evaluating a dog and another dog just catches our eye. Well, Duke had been looked over because he was a mix and a bit older and then to top it off, he tested heartworm positive so his outlook was looking bleak. But the shelter championed him because of his AWESOME personality and we just couldn’t let a great dog slip by without giving him a fighting chance. He’s been treated and is just waiting for his month long recuperation to end but in the meantime, we have found he has excellent house manners, is very good in his crate, gets along great with other dogs (as I write this, one of his foster friends is trying to engage him in play by chewing on his front leg). Duke would be great as a family’s first dog…if you are looking for a fantastic dog and aren’t as concerned with breed as you are about getting an awesome fit for your family, take a look at Duke. You will see why we feel he is well worth saving.
