844 Betty
Betty is a black female lab mix girl, about 8 years old and weighing about 35 pounds. Betty ended up at the shelter (not by her choice), her owner never came for her. She is sweet, happy, friendly, and is thrilled to be out of the scary noisy shelter. She is house trained, rides well in the car, and is a very quiet easy sweet girl. She loves to be petted and hand around with her humans. Unfortunately, Betty tested positive for heartworm disease. She will undergo treatment at the rescue’s expense which requires her to be quiet (like a couch potato) while going through treatment, it will be easy for her since she is so mellow. We start with doxycycline medication for 30 days, then wait another 30 days before the first treatment injection of imiticide. After 30 days we do a second and third injection in a row with about 45 days rest then she can resume normal activity like going for walks. Betty is in a foster home and we will let you know when she is done with treatment and if she comes available.
