604 Thor

Thor is a 10 year old 130 pound purebred black male. He was surrendered to a northern California shelter when his senior owner could no longer care for him. A good Samaritan with a huge heart adopted him but soon realized living on the third floor with no fenced yard was problematic so she contacted us. Thor is seriously overweight and is low thyroid so a diet has started, very inexpensive thyroid meds are being given, and easy walks are continuing. He’d definitely benefit from water exercise where all the weight isn’t on his old joints. Other than that, Thor is the perfect gentleman! He’s house trained, tolerates other dogs and loves cats. He’s good with children who respect his age. He actually loves to play fetch! Right now, his favorite thing is his orthopedic bed or a nap in the sun to soothe his aching joints. He’s house trained and is learning about the dog door to come and go as he pleases. And what Thor wants, Thor gets…except for extra kibble! And in a couple months when he’s lost 10-15 pounds, he’ll thank us. He is looking for a home where he can continue to be loved and adored and kept on his diet and exercise program. Just take a look at that face and you know why we rescued him! He’s a big fat teddy bear!
