335 Mike
Mike is about a 2-3 year old 77 pound chocolate male. He was picked up as a stray in a rural area running down the street with a chain wrapped around his chest. It could be that he fell out of a pick up because he has some healing wounds on his face and hind leg. The minute I drove up and saw him running around the play yard at the shelter, I knew he was one happy lab! He came right up to the fence and was leaning in to get touched…and having a loving hand on him makes Mike melt. Yes, melt! He knows little, but because he wants to please, he’s a quick learner. He’s figured out the crate, and he’s learning to walk on leash. He already knows not to jump up, but there’s no need to jump up when he has the lab lean down to an art form. Shelter staff said he refused to potty in his kennel and they had to let him out in the yard to do his business which is a hopeful sign he is house trained. He currently is separated from other doggie friends in case he catches a doggie cold, but once his quarantine is up, we’ll get to know him better. In the meantime, he’s getting lots of love and attention from his humans.
